Thistle Golf Challenge

The Organisation

Volunteering Highland has a good reputation for organising fundraising events and has previously hosted 'The Thistle Challenge' as a walking event. The participants raised a magnificant £10,000 last year which was distributed among 25 charities. This year they are hosting the challenge as a golfing event with all proceeds going to The Time Bank Project.

The Event 

Torvean Golf Club, in conjuntion with Volunteering Highland , is to host a charity golf tournament to be played on the 4th of Sept 09.

The format is a three person Texas Scramble with all participants having a current handicap. Players without a handicap are very welcome to compete but cannot claim the four cash prizes.

1st  Place   £300

2nd Place   £210

3rd  Place     £90

4th  Place     £60 

Extra prizes for nearest the pin at the 7th and the longest drive at the 11th.

Super prizes for hole in ones at the

1st          Golf Break in France (value £500)

9th          Golf Holiday (value £1500)

15th        Ford Ka (courtesy of Macrae and Dick worth £7500)

Plus free beer for all participants
